Staffed by many highly specialized physicians, the Comprehensive Diagnostic Imaging Center is engaged not only in diagnostic imaging and multidisciplinary conferences, but also in structured undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as a wide range of cross-sectional research activities.
One distinctive feature of the Center is that it is responsible not only for CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine, but also for ultrasonography and gastrointestinal fluoroscopic examinations. It is uncommon for a clinical training hospital to have such a comprehensive diagnostic imaging center.
The Center also plays an important role in diagnostic imaging education for residents and specialists both within and outside Nara Prefecture. In addition, for cases requiring advanced expertise, the University dispatches radiologists directly to affiliated hospitals to provide specialized support.
