Public Health Nursing is a field of practice and scholarship that supports health promotion, disease prevention, and well-being among people living in communities. Our department addresses health from physical, mental, and social perspectives, focusing not only on individuals but also on families, groups, and communities.
Our research covers a wide range of public health issues, including maternal and child health, community health nursing, health inequities, disaster health, and environmental health. In addition to identifying and addressing factors that adversely affect health, we employ the Positive Deviance Approach, which focuses on individuals and communities that achieve favorable outcomes despite challenging circumstances, to generate knowledge that contributes to health and well-being.
We also utilize innovative technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), open data, WebGIS, virtual reality (VR), and remote sensing to support evidence-based decision-making in health, medical care, and welfare. Through the social implementation of research findings, we aim to contribute to healthier and more resilient communities.
