This is a joint research course with Molmir, Inc., a venture company spun out of Nara Medical University. Molmir is developing various fundamental technologies to capture changes in the molecular state within cells that are signs of disease. There is a technology called "CHEmir" that can recognize patterns of changes in the state of target blood and cells as the "taste" of biological samples and distinguish between normal and abnormal tastes, and a technology called "MAGmir" that can analyze the structure of high molecular weight proteins at the atomic level. We are conducting research aimed at accelerating the development of drugs to treat intractable neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease, as well as intractable neuromuscular diseases such as muscle diseases.
