Yasushi Ikebe (Associate Professor)
The principal research subjects of this course are Heidegger’s philosophy and the philosophy of medicine/medical ethics. Our previous studies on Heidegger’s philosophy focused on his “Theory of Others”, and the research subjects are related to human bodies, death, concern, conscience, pain, and techniques. The subjects of our research on philosophy of medicine/medical ethics are death, care, and pain. We have positioned Heidegger’s philosophy as the principal research theme, and conduct research on philosophy of medicine/medical ethics as related research subjects, rather than addressing these two themes separately.
