The Department of Pediatrics of Nara Medical University is a facility to provide advanced pediatric services, with which doctors specializing in hematology, oncology, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, or collagen, endocrine system, or infectious diseases are involved. Along with the advancement of medical services, the number of patients treated in multiple specialized areas is increasing. We provide medical consultation and treatment for patients with severe diseases through active discussions among these experts who closely communicate with each other as our merit.
As research activities, we conduct clinical and basic studies mainly regarding hemorrhagic and thrombotic diseases on a global basis, following the department’s tradition. To actively promote international exchange, we have also dispatched a total of 45 staff members to 20 facilities to study abroad up to the present. We are currently extending the range of our research activities to examine abnormalities of hemostasis and coagulation in the fields of hemato-oncology, cardiology, and nephrology.
