Our research activities mainly aim to clarify pathological mechanisms by immunological analysis using model mice of various refractory diseases, in order to provide important target molecules that will contribute to the prevention, vaccination, and treatment of such diseases. For example, we are developing models of pulmonary fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), respiratory infections (such as those due to the influenza virus H1N1, SRAS-CoV-2, pneumococcus, and nontuberculous mycobacterial disease), acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS), and ulcerative colitis (UC), as well as various types of cancers. The clinical utilization of research outcomes is key to our activities.
