In April 2015, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of the School of Medicine and that of the School of Nursing were consolidated into one. Students of the faculty are encouraged to acquire extensive knowledge in a variety of fields, including natural science, humanities, social science, and foreign languages. Students are advised to: develop the habit of learning independently, become interested in many subjects within and outside their specialties, and acquire the abilities to understand, consider, and judge a variety of issues faced by people living in modern society with a refined sense of proportion.
